Creating a brochure
The brochures let you create books, directories, booklet, manual, annual report book, notebooks...
1st stage : quantity and binding
General informations
- Give a name to your brochure
- Determine the number of copies desired.
Binding
This step is to assemble notebooks before or folded sheets.
Set the orientation
Default orientation is set to "portrait" (height is greater than width). To set "landscape" orientation choose "no".
Select a binding method
Click on "Choose", and select the needed binding method :
- DCC : Perfect binding
- DCCP : Dos Carré Collé PUR
- DCCC : Sewn binding
- PC : Saddle stitching
- PB : Openeyes stitching
- PL : Inline stitching
- CP : Gluing on fold
- NA : Folded without binding
Off line
- Saddle stitching (school books)
- Openeyes stitching
- Perfect binding
- Sewn bindingt
On line
(web offset machines)
- Inline stitching
- Gluing on fold
You can also calculate whether the binding.
Holes
It is an option.
Once completed this information, click on "Save and describe inside components"
2nd stage : content
You will now define the components of your brochure
Add a section
Choose between an inside section and an inside multi versions.
If you select for example an inside section, you arrive at another screen that allows you to learn:
Trim size
Select:
- an usual size (ISO): for example A4
- or define manually the width and height
Then determine the number of pages of your inside section.
Printing
Select colors for the front side and back side. You can select the 4 colours.
Add if necessary, up to five specific colors (Pantone) for the front side and back side.
Finishing
Select a varnish if necessary on the dropdown for the front and back side.
Letterpress
Paper
Select a manufacturing process:
- sheet-fed
- reel offset
- rotogravure
Depending on your choice, click on "choose"
- choose the quality of paper in the dropdown menu and click on "next".
- choose the brand in the dropdown or choose "at best" eand click on "next".
- choose the color and click on "next".
- set the weight in the dropdown.
Once completed this information, click on "next"
You go back with the describe of inside section that you've developed. By clicking on the on the right, you can make changes if necessary.
You can then either add a inside section or a cover.
Add a cover
Once the coverage selected, the method is the same as for the inside section.
Add an insert
Once the insert selected, the metho is the same as for the inside section.
